When you visit Londolozi you are contributing to developing the socio-economic wellbeing of a whole human ecosystem. Here are your Impact Stories...

Mandela Day has become one of our favourite days in the Londolozi calendar. Each year it offers us something far greater than an opportunity to complete a project or contribute 67 minutes of service. It invites us to pause together as a village. To reconnect with the values that have shaped this place, and to […]

There is a story Jean Giono wrote in 1953, about a shepherd named Elzéard Bouffier who lived alone in a barren stretch of Provence. Each evening Bouffier sorted acorns by lamplight, keeping only the perfect ones, discarding the cracked and the small. Each day he walked the dead hills and planted them, a hundred at […]

Twenty-seven April 1994. For South Africa, it was the day the door swung open. Freedom Day marks the first democratic elections in this country’s history, a turning point that still echoes through every generation that followed. It is a day not just for remembering what was won, but for asking: what have we built with […]

The response from our Londolozi family was heartwarming, and I am absolutely […]

A Story of Sacred Trees, Shared Wisdom, and Sustainable Futures For as long as Londolozi has existed, the marula tree has stood as a quiet sentinel – its wide, welcoming canopy a witness to laughter, tears, decisions, and dreams. It is said that at Londolozi, all problems are solved beneath a marula tree. Here, in […]

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. True sustainability takes root when the communities surrounding wild spaces thrive alongside […]

A new chapter unfolds in the tale of conservation...
It is with great excitement and anticipation that we share a milestone moment for the Tracker Academy and the Rhino Guardians. These projects stand as beacons of conservation, striving to protect the rich biodiversity of Africa, restoring ancient wisdom and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. For many years, Londolozi has had the privilege of being the founding campus and partner for these projects, and we are thrilled to share that others in the industry are stepping up, ensuring the ripple effect continues to be amplified across Africa.

With bated breath and hearts brimming with optimism, we unveil the exciting news of the construction of the newest Rhino Guardians campus. Nestled within the majestic Timbavati Nature Reserve, the Sandringham training camp has officially opened its doors!

This 24-bed training camp signifies a pivotal moment in the Rhino Guardians' journey. Paired with AndBeyond's Ngala, it offers an expansive 20,000 hectares of training land, providing an unparalleled environment for learning and growth. With each new partnership forged, the ripple effect grows stronger. A true testament to the power of collaboration as voices and hands join in solidarity to protect and preserve the precious biodiversity of our land.

This strategic move consolidates the Rhino Guardians' training operations into two camps, Londolozi and Sandringham, fostering synergy, efficiency, and economies of scale. The Tracker Academy's commitment to excellence in conservation education, ensuring that our efforts have a lasting impact on wildlife protection and habitat preservation through the Rhino Guardians project has been nothing short of amazing. We look forward to updating you all on the progress at the Sandringham campus throughout the year.

The true measure of our success lies in the deployment of the Tracker Academy and Rhino Guardians graduates, and we're proud to report a deployment success rate exceeding 90%. Within the Rhino Guardians program, this figure reaches an exceptional 100%, a testament to the calibre of training and mentorship provided.
These graduates emerge as frontline defenders of wildlife, patrolling vast landscapes, safeguarding endangered species, and combating the threats posed by poaching and habitat destruction. Their commitment to conservation embodies the spirit of our initiatives, inspiring hope and driving change in the face of adversity.

The Tracker Academy and the Rhino Guardians project are examples of the kind of positive impact that can be achieved through community-based conservation efforts. By training people in skills such as tracking, anti-poaching, and environmental monitoring, these projects empower local communities to take an active role in preserving their natural heritage. The ripple effect of these initiatives extends far beyond the immediate conservation efforts, providing opportunities for employment, education, and community development.

The reality is that endangered species and their continued protection is an around-the-clock, 365-day-a-year effort. It is expensive, and it takes boots on the ground! We are extremely proud to partner with Tracker Academy to ensure that for generations to come, these animals will live a protected life, and for those of you who want to join the fight please contact Alex van den Heever at the Tracker Academy to see where you can create a difference alex@nns.co.za.
